Tax Accountant - Permanent Year Round - Flex Schedule
We have an opportunity for a person with primarily a tax background in business and personal tax preparation (prior experience reviewing tax returns would be a plus). The ideal candidate would also be familiar with QuickBooks and preparing trial balances for year-end business clients.
The position is for someone with a flexible schedule. Ideal situation would be a full time schedule from February through April, then approximately 3 days per week through September and 1 to 2 days per week the balance of the year.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
-Preparation all types of income tax returns (primarily business & individual)
-Work closely with senior firm members on special projects and various clients
-Be responsible for specific assigned clients (primarily tax preparation and tax planning)
-Be responsible for meetings and conferences with clients on an on-going basis
-Prepare year-end tax projections to determine clients tax liability for planning purposes
-Communicate with clients to obtain necessary data for tax filing purposes
-Research tax issues as they arise (we use Thomson RIA Checkpoint)
Preferred Experience:
-MUST have a minimum of 2 years RECENT public accounting firm experience
-Prefer experience with a small to mid-size CPA firm
-Experience with Thomson Ultra Tax software is a plus
Education:
-Prefer bachelors degree with major in accounting
-CPA certificate
Additional requirements:
-Pro-active attitude to work with others in a team environment.
-Travel is non-existent
-You should live within a 30 minute drive of our office.
